Side Spinners A and B competed in the NCL in divisions 2 and 3 respectively. Matches were played at Cippenham, with three rounds of matches over four full days.
When the A team went into the final day, it quickly became clear that there were four teams in close contention for the top two "medal places". After a very exciting day, Side Spinners A team won their division with 20 points, one point ahead of Oxford B.
Congratulations went to the winning team of Andy Wright, Daniel Broner and Chris Apps. Credit also went to Jonny Parker, Joe Keczkes and Colm Bushell who played for the A-team in some of the earlier rounds when Andy and Chris were unable to play.
Congratulations were also due to the B team who won the 3rd division on the final day of the competition. Having been a close second at the end of days 1 and 2, their training paid off when they won quite convincingly, finishing top by 7 clear points without losing any of their 5 matches. Their success was even more impressive in that it was the first time they had entered this tournament. Well done to Colm, Joe, Ewan and Alex (especially Colm who kept a 100% win rate throughout the day).
